Best Favorite Picks:

New England Patriots (+700): While one might tend to agree with a notion that this season could see the Pats slide slightly, you're still getting a tantalizing price on the Patriots at +700. It's the highest quote on New England in a handful of seasons and there are still a lot of reasons to assume the Pats are going to have a big say in this conversation come playoff-time.

Los Angeles Rams (+850): A lot of times, when a rising team adds a ton of pieces in the offseason in an obvious “win-now” move, it doesn't resonate as well as you would think. At the same time, one shouldn't register much surprise if the Rams prove to be the class of the NFC this season. Everything seems to be lining up for a huge season for the Rams this year.

Minnesota Vikings (+1200): Last season's awful ending against the Eagles covers the fact they won 12 of their last 13 games. They had lost their top back Dalvin Cook and rode their defense and a rather no-name offense to a huge season. Now, Kirk Cousins is in the fold, Cook is back, and nearly everyone returns to a team that should be a handful.

Best Middle-of-the-Road Picks:

New Orleans Saints (+1600): The Saints are making a big push this season. After winning 11 games in 2017, they are starting to see young talent form around Brees and on defense, where they are a different team than a few short years ago. The offense added even more horsepower and they look a lot like the team that won it all.

Houston Texans (+2000): The way last season ended with a thud makes people forget how formidable they looked with Deshaun Watson in the fold. Their top stars are injury-prone, but if they can catch some breaks on that front, they added enough components to make themselves serious contenders this season.

Kansas City Chiefs (+3300): Their defense doesn't look great and they are undergoing a transition of approach on offense, but they're an interesting X-factor nonetheless. If Mahomes works out at QB and is able to stretch the field with their growing cast of game-changing playmakers, the Chiefs could surprise some people in 2018. They're an entirely dicey proposition, but they are 33-1, a nice price for a team that is 33-15 in their last three seasons.

Best Longshot Picks:

Carolina Panthers (+4000): The schedule is brutal and there are issues on both sides of the ball, but 40-1 is pretty juicy for an 11-win team from last season. In addition, there is good young talent on the rise. They could fall flat, but the offense could be better than some suspect and that front-seven on defense is still a handful.

Indianapolis Colts (+8000): We're into deep-longshot territory here. It's 80-1, so there are going to be innumerable issues. But when Luck is healthy and effective, the Colts have been formidable and didn't have a ton of weapons around him back then. With a bolstered line, new leadership, and some rising talent, they seem to be worth a tickle.

Chicago Bears (+8000): Let's say some of the additions on offense pan out, Trubisky comes around, and a blossoming defense takes another step forward—the Bears should be in every game. For an 80-1 shot, they might not be as far off as some are thinking. There is new leadership aboard and the Bears are heading in the right direction.
